A comprehensive observational cohort study has quantified a concerning association between glucosamine supplementation and accelerated cognitive decline. Among adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, those taking glucosamine supplements showed a 25% higher likelihood of progressing to Alzheimer’s disease compared to non-users.

This statistic represents one of the largest investigations into glucosamine’s neurological effects, tracking participants across multiple countries over several years.
