🚨 Breaking Newsvia UN News Health

The World Health Organization (WHO) has commended Uganda’s handling of an Ebola outbreak that has crossed borders from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). WHO leadership stressed that Uganda’s swift response measures have been critical in managing the spread of the virus in the region.

The outbreak, originating in the DRC, has extended into Uganda, raising concerns about cross-border transmission. Health authorities are monitoring case numbers and tracking contacts to prevent further community spread. Regional epidemiological data remains under active surveillance.

WHO officials have emphasized that sustained vigilance and coordinated cross-border cooperation between Uganda, the DRC, and neighboring nations are essential to contain the outbreak. Health systems in the affected regions are implementing enhanced screening, isolation, and treatment protocols. This is a developing story.
