A landmark meta-analysis in Drug Safety reveals a striking 40% relative reduction in major bleeding events when cancer patients receive direct oral anticoagulants instead of low-molecular-weight heparin. This significant safety advantage comes without compromising efficacy—recurrent blood clot rates remain statistically comparable between the two treatment approaches.
