The change spans multiple critical agencies: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, and various other HHS units. Each agency houses personnel responsible for developing health regulations, establishing research priorities, and shaping public health guidance.
Workers in these roles previously enjoyed job security based on merit and performance standards. The Schedule F designation removes this traditional framework, allowing termination for policy disagreements or political considerations rather than documented performance issues.
