The parallel studies, published simultaneously in The Lancet and JAMA in June 2026, evaluated orforglipron’s efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes receiving either metformin monotherapy or insulin glargine. Results presented at the American Diabetes Association annual meeting confirm that the agent delivers meaningful glycaemic control improvements across both combination regimens.
