The compound’s molecular effects are real and reproducible in controlled laboratory settings. Yet despite this extensive basic science foundation, no human clinical trial has evaluated whether apigenin supplements at commercially available doses—typically 50 mg per capsule—produce measurable therapeutic benefits in people. This striking disconnect between bench research and clinical translation represents a broader challenge in supplement science: biological plausibility does not guarantee real-world efficacy.
