This reduction is particularly significant when contextualized against the scale of the crisis: 2.1 million people are affected by annual flooding in Nigeria, with 340 healthcare facilities disrupted each year. During flood events, supply delays typically reach 72%, creating dangerous gaps in emergency care capacity.
The framework’s success across six pilot states demonstrates that combining satellite-based flood risk mapping with insights from healthcare workers and community leaders produces measurably better outcomes than technology-only approaches. For global health emergencies where response speed is critical to survival, these findings underscore the value of hybrid intelligence systems.
