New study in Nature Medicine shows AI offers only modest improvements over traditional expert methods in selecting flu vaccine strains. While AI achieved 71% accuracy vs 62% for WHO committees, hybrid approaches combining both reached 78%. The future may lie in human-AI collaboration rather than replacement.
