Researchers have discovered that immune cells packed with lipid droplets accumulate in the brains of patients with severe multiple sclerosis and appear to drive ongoing inflammation and tissue damage. New research reveals foamy immune cells packed with fat may be a hidden driver of severe multiple sclerosis progression. Scientists found these lipid-laden cells accumulate in MS patient brains and fuel ongoing inflammation. The discovery could open new therapeutic targets for slowing MS progression.
