Genicular artery embolisation (GAE)—a minimally invasive catheter-based procedure—is helping patients with chronic knee osteoarthritis return to gardening, cycling, and other activities without undergoing knee replacement surgery. Early clinical case series report pain relief within weeks and sustained functional recovery. However, long-term durability data and randomised controlled trials are still needed to establish efficacy and patient selection criteria.
