Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ), a naturally occurring redox-active compound, demonstrates measurable benefits across multiple health domains at physiologically modest doses, according to evidence compiled from human clinical trials. New research indicates that PQQ supplementation at 10–20 mg daily enhances memory and cognitive performance, while lower doses of 5–10 mg daily produce consistent reductions in inflammatory markers including C-reactive protein. The compound appears to work by supporting mitochondrial function and reducing oxidative stress, which subsequently dampens inflammatory signaling pathways. These findings are particularly relevant for conditions characterized by chronic inflammation, such as cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. The consistency of results across independent human studies suggests a genuine biological effect rather than statistical artifact, supporting further investigation into PQQ’s role in nutritional medicine and metabolic health optimization.
