New phase 3 trial data quantifies the clinical efficacy of survodutide in treating metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. The SYNCHRONIZE-MASLD trial documented a 67% reduction in liver fat content among 730 participants receiving weekly survodutide injections over 48 weeks, compared to placebo—a remarkable improvement in primary endpoint achievement.

Secondary outcomes were equally impressive, with participants experiencing 18.5% body weight reduction versus 2.1% with placebo. These outcomes rival bariatric surgical interventions while avoiding invasive procedures. The dual glucagon/GLP-1 receptor agonist approach demonstrated superiority over existing single-pathway GLP-1 therapies in hepatic fat clearance.

Published in Nature Medicine, these robust statistical findings provide strong evidence supporting survodutide’s therapeutic potential and forthcoming regulatory submissions targeting 2026-2027 availability.
