Despite this robust scientific foundation, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. now seeks federal access to Americans’ medical records to reinvestigate this thoroughly examined question. The proposal reflects a troubling pattern of revisiting settled scientific inquiries, potentially diverting research resources from proven public health priorities. Medical experts express concern that reopening definitively answered questions may confuse public perception of vaccine safety and undermine vaccination confidence among vulnerable populations. The initiative raises important questions about appropriate resource allocation in medical research and the role of evidence in informing federal health policy.
