🚨 Breaking Newsvia Nigeria NAFDAC

The Niger Republic’s Ministry of Trade and Industry has imposed an import ban on Bulmex Parboiled Rice sourced from India, according to a public alert issued by Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The ban follows regulatory investigation and oversight conducted by the Agadez Regional Directorate of Commerce, which identified metallic contamination concerns in the product.

The action reflects heightened food safety scrutiny in West Africa’s supply chain. NAFDAC has notified stakeholders and the public of the neighboring country’s enforcement measure, indicating potential cross-border distribution risks for the affected rice product.

Regulatory authorities across the region are expected to intensify monitoring of rice imports from the flagged supplier. Consumers and distributors are advised to verify product sourcing and batch information. This is a developing story.
