L-tryptophan serves as the exclusive dietary precursor for serotonin and melatonin synthesis, directly linking nutrition to emotional regulation and sleep quality. L-arginine enhances synaptic plasticity through nitric oxide production, while L-histidine controls alertness and circadian rhythm regulation via histamine signaling.

These neurochemical pathways demonstrate that optimal brain function requires consistent dietary sources of essential amino acids.
