A groundbreaking study reveals three critical findings that should influence how healthcare providers and patients interpret viral load monitoring results. First, defective HIV copies explain the majority of persistent viral traces detected in successfully treated patients, meaning low-level detection does not necessarily signal treatment failure or emerging drug resistance.
