Nigeria’s 2026 Large Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) digital monitoring system has achieved 100 percent pilot validation completion, marking a milestone in the country’s effort to systematize micronutrient fortification oversight. The validated digital infrastructure now enables systematic tracking of fortified food compliance across Nigeria’s distributed retail markets, capturing real-time data on product quality, labelling standards, and market-level distribution patterns. This comprehensive digital framework was piloted in key commercial hubs including Lagos, with coordination from the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and validation of standardized data collection protocols. The completion of pilot validation positions state health authorities to implement evidence-based enforcement strategies targeting persistent micronutrient deficiencies.
