A groundbreaking pilot trial from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine presents three critical findings for chronic stroke survivors and clinicians. First, motor improvements achieved through spinal cord stimulation remain sustained over four years—challenging the notion that recovery potential diminishes after months. Second, meaningful benefits emerge in the chronic phase, years post-stroke, expanding therapeutic windows for patients who believed their recovery had plateaued.
