The meta-analysis employed trial sequential analysis methodology to ensure the robustness of findings across heterogeneous study populations. Type O blood individuals showed a relative risk of 72% compared to the baseline 100% observed in type A individuals, with type B at 98% and type AB at 102%. These consistent findings across diverse geographic and epidemiologic contexts suggest a genuine biological mechanism underlying the protective effect, rather than statistical artifact or population-specific variation.
