The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has approved 47 new pharmaceutical manufacturing and wholesale dealer licences in a significant regulatory expansion. The approval comprises 28 manufacturing licences and 19 wholesale dealer licences, strengthening the nation’s pharmaceutical production capacity. This licensing surge demonstrates the UK pharmaceutical sector’s continued growth and adaptation following post-Brexit regulatory changes. The approved facilities must comply with stringent Good Manufacturing Practice standards and maintain robust quality assurance systems to ensure medicine safety and efficacy. The expansion enhances the UK’s position as a global pharmaceutical hub while reinforcing domestic supply chain resilience for both UK healthcare providers and international export markets.
