The Director-General of the World Health Organization has expressed profound concern following a visit to areas affected by the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The official visit highlighted escalating challenges in controlling the virus transmission in the region.

The DRC continues to face a serious public health crisis as Ebola cases persist across multiple health zones. The outbreak poses significant risks to both local populations and regional stability, with concerns about adequate healthcare infrastructure and disease containment measures in affected areas.

WHO and partner organizations are intensifying response efforts, including epidemiological surveillance, vaccination campaigns, and support for local health systems. International health authorities are closely monitoring the situation for potential spread beyond current outbreak zones. This is a developing story.
